Deployment of acoustic sensor & current profiler off Jurong Island

From 10 January to 31 March, work to deploy an acoustic sensor and current profiler is being carried out off Jurong Island.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.06 of 2023 dated 10 January 2023, the work is being conducted from 0800 to 1800 hours daily - including Sundays & Public Holidays - at the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
AWAC 01⁰ 15.933’N / 103⁰ 44.027’E

The deployment of acoustic sensor and current profiler is being carried out by divers deployed from the work boats. The acoustic sensor and current profiler is anchored by using ballast weights and angle bars.

A safety boat is deployed to warn other craft to keep clear of the area during working hours.

Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the work area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (Sinki Control);
and
e) Communicate with Sinki Control for assistance, if required.
