07 Nov 2019 / Bay of Bengal, India
All ports in Odisha state have replaced warning signal DC-I with signal DW-II after fresh reports suggest Cyclone Bulbul is likely to skip the state.
It now appears to be headed towards West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts, where heavy rainfall is likely. However, coastal parts of Odisha will also witness heavy rainfall accompanied by squally surface winds.
The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is set to intensify into a cyclone storm today (7 November). This morning, it was about 730 km South-South-East of Paradip (Odisha); 830 km South-South-East of Sagar Islands (Bengal); and 830 km South-South-West of Khepupara (Bangladesh).
Bulbul is expected to reach a peak strength of a very severe cyclone within next few days.
