Curfew relaxation

The curfew in all other districts except the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam, Kandy, Kegalle and Ampara has been lifted at 5.00am today (20 April) and re-imposed at 8.00pm on the same day. Thereafter, the curfew in these districts will be effective only between 8.00 pm to 5.00am every day until further notice.

In the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam (excluding few Police Divisional areas), the curfew will be lifted at 5.00am on Wednesday 22 April and re-imposed at 8.00pm daily. Thereby the curfew will be effective only between 8.00 pm to 5.00am every day.

Movements between districts will not be allowed except for essential services including office work.

Once the curfew is relaxed, state entities, private organizations and banks are expected to operate with a limited work force, strictly following the Coronavirus prevention measures.
