COVID-19 precautions

The management of all marinas and slipways must:

  • Check temperature and health status of users and ensure that they have no symptoms related to Coronavirus COVID 19 infection. Please refer to Department of Health for more information on the same.

  • Report any symptoms that are observed, on workers or public users, via “Estijaba” service of Department of Health at: 800-1717 and deal quickly with cases of suspicion of infection in accordance with the procedures followed in the Emirate.

  • Develop and implement appropriate internal plans to prevent the spread of infection in all Marinas and Slipways, including conducting awareness sessions among workers.

  • Ensure the provision of all personal preventive and sterilization requirements for all employees and visitors (users/lessors) and check the stock periodically to ensure constant availability.

  • Develop and implement a periodic sterilization plan for the PWCs anchored in the Marina and adjoining facilities.

  • Keep contact details of emergency health services ready and visible to others.

  • Maintain a daily register with names and contact details of all users utilizing the Marina and its facilities to access Abu Dhabi Waters. The same shall be submitted to the Maritime office through email id [email protected] upon request.

For Users:

Age of passengers
- 14-60 years old.

Number/limit of people per watercraft
- Not exceeding 1 person on PWC.
- Passengers must not exceed 4 persons per boat and not exceed minimum registered number for small boats.
- Passengers limit does not apply on Houseboats and vessels longer than 24 meters and Gatherings to be avoided and social distancing measures to be followed.

General Instructions
- Avoid close contact or approach with other boat owners at sea and maintain social distancing measures.
- Keep hygiene of the boat surfaces and yourself as highest priority.
- Use sanitizers before, during and after the use of boats and PWC.
- Ensure to wear facemasks and gloves on the boat.
- Keep Emergency contacts of health-related services ready and visible onboard.

Sailing time
- Outside the hours of the National Sterilization Program.
