Construction of temporary cofferdam

From 23 November 2021 to 22 May 2022, works are being carried out to construct a temporary cofferdam to serve Pulau Punngol Barat.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.083 of 2021, the works are being carried out 11 hours daily (0800-1900) - including Sundays & Public Holidays - in the East Johor Straits Off Pulau Ponngol Barat (WGS 84 Datum):

4 01˚ 25.558’N 103˚ 52.181'E

The construction of temporary cofferdam involves installation of silt curtain, sheet pile and guide beams, backfilling of sand and tie-rod installation using excavators.

A safety boat will be in attendance at all times to warn and re-direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of the working areas.

Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang
Control);
and
e) Communicate with Sembawang Control for assistance, if required.
