Construction of containment bunds at Tuas View Extension

The working period for the construction of containment bunds at Tuas View Extension has been extended. The works are now being conducted 24 hours daily - including Sundays & Public Holidays - until 28 May 2026.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.160 of 2025, the works are being carried out within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

3 01°13.036'N / 103°39.512’E
4 01°12.660'N / 103°38.680’E
5 01°12.752'N / 103°38.636’E
6 01°12.809'N / 103°38.717’E

The work involves a series of marine activities, including survey works, submergible sand bund construction, submergible stone revetment installation, and the controlled dumping of Excavated Material/Dredged Material (EM/DM) using hopper barges.

The sand will be transferred from the stockpile area by hopper barges and tugboats to be discharged at the sand bund site.

The stone revetment will be installed using a crane barge, work barge, and flat-top barge, while EM/DM materials will be dumped within the bund by the hopper barges.

A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the work exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
