The Yemeni Coast Guard is urging shipping to steer clear of the navigational channel to the east of the Red Sea Yemeni island of Zuqar.
This follows the announcement on Friday (14 April) by the Yemen Coast Guard Chief, Major General Khalid Al-Ghommaly, that there is information that rebels had placed a number of naval mines in the vicinity, hence the warning to avoid the area until the mines can be cleared.
