At 1400 hours local time yesterday (Sunday, 19 February), the electricity power system for Aden went off.
Since then, the city is in complete blackout. No official statement has been made about the reasons for the power failure. Fuel supplies for domestic use stopped one week ago.
Despite the blackout, port operations are still continuing.
