30 Jun 2022 / Namibia

Namibia’s Ministry of Health and Social Services has advised of a change to the country’s isolation and quarantine requirements.

The duration of isolation Covid-19 positive cases for people who are asymptomatic or have mild disease has been reduced from 10 days to 5. Patients who de-isolate after 5 days should wear a well-fitted mask indoors while around others for 5 more days after ending their 5-day isolation period.

The quarantine period for contact and suspected cases is reduced from 7 days to 5. A Covid-19 test should be conducted on day 5 (counting the date of contact as day 0), and if the result is negative, quarantine can end immediately.
