Brazil announces travel ban on flights from UK

24 Dec 2020 / Brazil

Brazilian authorities have announced a temporary travel ban on all flights from the UK. The restriction also applies to passengers who have been in the UK in the last fourteen days.

The move follows the publication of new arrivals procedures published earlier this month that will take effect from 30 December. Under the new legislation, all arriving passengers - Brazilian or foreign - must present the following documentation to the airline before boarding:

  • Proof of negative SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR test performed within 72 hours prior to boarding time
  • Health Declaration (printed or digital) confirming agreement with the sanitary measures that must be complied with while in the country.

Non-compliance with the new procedures may result in entry to Brazil being denied.
