Berth repairs & Exclusion Zone

On 4 January 2026, contractors on behalf of Hanson Quarry Products Europe will commence works for the repair and strengthening of the berth face and river wall at Victoria Deep Water Terminal.

To facilitate the works, an Exclusion Zone will be established adjacent to the berth. The works are expected to last for approximately 12 months…

…Works will involve marine craft, persons working at the waterline, piling operations and, cranes and excavators ashore which will over-sail the river immediately in front of the berth.

To facilitate these works an Exclusion Zone will be established adjacent to the berth. The zone will extend 20 metres from the berth face into the river from the upstream end of the berth, to 20 metres from the downstream end.

No vessels, except those authorised by the Harbour Master in association with the works, are permitted to enter the marked Exclusion Zone.

During the works, workboats and safety craft will be in attendance as required, and will be maintaining a listening watch on VHF Channel 14.

Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedure set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘Speed Reductions’ with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee’ displayed.

Further details may be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14.
