Attempt to resume operations

14 Jan 2020 / Calaca, Philippines

As at 0900 hours today (14 January) Taal Volcano is still at Alert Level 4. However, the number of tremors being felt in the area has lessened and ash fall was significantly reduced.

With this development, the port will attempt to resume NORMAL OPERATIONS effective 1200 hours today. Tanker vessels that do not use ship’s gear and can unload quickly will be accommodated first. However, the consignee will be required to submit contingency plans and will be ordered to pull-out in case an Alert Level 5 and/or a strong earthquake takes place.

For cargo vessels that use ship’s gear, be on standby. The port will issue updates and advisories for possible docking as the situation further improves.
