A canoe race will take place around Hong Kong Island on 12 November 2022 (Saturday). About 15 canoes and 20 support boats are expected to participate in the race.
According to the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore’s Marine Department Notice No.231/2022, the canoes will set off at staggered times between 0800 hours at the south of Middle Island, then follow a route around Hong Kong Island in a clockwise direction, and finish in the vicinity of Middle Island by 1500 hours.
Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity of the race route should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory.
