14 May 2018 / Melbourne, Australia
Victoria Ports Corporation (Melbourne) (VPCM) has decided to increase wharfage fees in line with last year’s consumer price index, an increase of 1.9%.
The Governor-in-Council approved the wharfage fees increases and the decision was gazetted on 24 April 2018.
Other fees and charges in the Reference Tariff Schedule have also been increased by the consumer price index of 1.9%.
The 2018 Reference Tariff Schedule has introduced a major structural fee change in the form of a ‘site occupation charge’ (SOC) for passenger cruise ships. The charge incorporates the former berth hire fees for passenger ships and a charge pf the use the building, facilities and gangways as well as cleaning of the terminal regardless of whether the cruise ships are in transit or turnaround. The SOC has been set at $16.50 per passenger (excluding GST) for 2018.
