Port Kembla Port Authority have advised that due to forecast gale conditions, the anchorage was closed overnight since 1900 hours local time yesterday (Sunday 26 August). All ships were ordered to return to sea.
Present indications are that the anchorage will remain closed until Wednesday (29 August), at which time weather conditions will be assessed for possible re-opening of the anchorage.
The port is currently still open to shipping movements.
