Anchorage closed to shipping

The Harbour Master at Port Kembla advises the anchorage has been closed with effect from midday today (2 September) due to adverse weather forecast (strong winds/swell). All vessels are to remain minimum 12NM offshore.

Ships departing anchorage and returning back to sea will not affect their NOR or turn of arrival.

Present indications are that the anchorage will be closed until about Monday, 5 September.
