All-Weather Port declared

20 May 2025 / KLL Dabhol Port, India

Dabhol Konkan LNG Terminal on the west coast of India has been declared an ‘All-Weather Port’ operational 365 days a year, starting from the end of May 2025.

Previously, the terminal was not operational during the monsoon season – usually from late May to September/early October.

However, this year, permission has been granted to operate KLL Dabhol Port on all weather conditions on completion of breakwater project. Konkan LNG Terminal also now has a full term NSPC certificate.

The long-awaited breakwater project aimed at making the terminal an all-weather port. It is a 2.3 km island-type breakwater, built with indigenous accropodes blocks and cutting-edge technology to withstand harsh marine conditions. Its completion enables year-round operations.

With its completion and subsequent clearance from the statutory authorities for port operation during monsoon period, the terminal is expected to achieve 41% of the capacity of 5 MMTPA. The terminal will achieve 100% capacity after completion of AAHS which is expected by December 2026.
