Testing of underwater vehicle (AUV) east of St John’s Island

Testing of an underwater vehicle (AUV) is being conducted until 17 November, east of St John’s Island, within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 13.133’N / 103 deg. 51.137’E
2) 01 deg. 12.960’N / 103 deg. 51.229’E
3) 01 deg. 12.925’N / 103 deg. 51.137’E

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.157 of 2017, the testing is being carried out on daily on weekdays from 0900 to 1800 hours.

The testing of AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) maneuverability will be carried out within the working area. The AUV will be launched and operated from a work boat during the experiments. A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft about the work.

Craft involved in the testing will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control); and
e) Communicate with West Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.
