GAC Philippines completes 2021 vaccine clearance

Country's only customs broker to handle clearance for all private sector-led imports of Moderna vaccine

GAC has completed the clearance of the final batch of more than 20 million COVID-19 vaccines brought into the Philippines for 2021.

The 150,540 doses of government-procured vaccines were cleared completed on 7 January by GAC Philippines, the only customs broker in the country to have handled customs clearance for all private sector-led imports of the Moderna vaccine.

“We are honoured to play a part in this important milestone in the country’s fight against Covid-19,” says Girlie Francia, GAC Philippines’ Operations Manager for International Freight Forwarding & Customs Brokerage. “The vaccines are highly sensitive and time-critical shipments which require precision handling, and our team has made sure that the vaccines are cleared and delivered in the shortest time possible while ensuring their quality, safety and security.”

As the country continues its fight against the virus in 2022, GAC is ready to continue to play a pivotal role in the vaccine distribution.
