2021 marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of Bengt Lindwall, GAC’s founding Chairman, early visionary and driver of the Group’s development from the mid-1950s to the late ‘80s.
Lindwall practiced a ‘people first’ approach to business. He recognised that good business was done by good people who were inspired, motivated and valued.
He had the gift of memory. He remembered the names of his managers’ partners, their children, even their pets. He also had the gift of listening, a skill he passed on to GAC’s current Chairman, Björn Engblom.
Lindwall laid down a set of caring values that still guide GAC’s approach to its people, its customers and suppliers, and the communities in which GAC people live and work.
