Post-Cyclone Balal weather conditions & movement of vessels

Weather condition at Port Louis have improved to an acceptable level for the resumption of port operations.

Port activities at the outer anchorage resumed at about 13.30 hours local time yesterday (17 January) and some 10 merchant vessels called at anchorage.

Shipping movements at MPT resumed yesterday afternoon. Container vessels are expected at MCT today as swell conditions have improved to an acceptable level.

The status of the swell is as follows:
- MCT 3: 0.8m
- MCT 2: 1.0m
- MCT 1: 1.25m
- Entrance Beacons: 1.5m
- Q1: about 30cm
- QA/D/E: about 20cm
