Issue of Ship Sanitation Certificates

The issuance of Ship Sanitation Certificates (SSC) in the Port of Fujairah has been reinstated with immediate effect.

The following documents/certificates must be submitted along with the application form. Requests that do not adhere to requirements will be rejected.

  • Valid Potable Water Analysis Report: Reports or records pertaining to the control of the quality of water supplied and the cleaning of potable water tanks.

  • HVC System Status: Spreadsheets or service orders related to the maintenance, operation, cleaning and disinfection of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment.

  • Food: Manuals and standard operating procedures (SOP), temperature measurement records/logs of the cold chambers and stores.

  • Medical Facilities: Maritime Declaration of Health and valid Medical Chest Certificate.

  • Sanitary Effluents: Valid International Sewage Pollution Prevention Certificate (ISPP), when applicable, or other document describing the type of existing system and its operation.

  • Accommodations: Vessel cleaning checklists or schedules; and at least 3 (three) high-resolution photographs of the facilities.

  • Synanthropic Fauna Harmful to Health: Integrated pest management program and updated records or certificates of actions performed on board.

  • Solid Waste Management: Garbage book, solid waste management plan and at least 1 (one) high resolution photograph of the waste storage area.

  • Ballast Water Management: Valid international Ballast Water Management Certificate (IBWMC).

Only the Ship Sanitation Control Certificate (SSCC) or Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificate (SSCEC) issued by the institutions or organizations whose names in the IHR Authorized Ports List are acceptable to the Port of Fujairah.

Shipping agents are advised to make sure not to include the SSCC or SSCEC issued by institutions or organizations whose names are not listed in the IHR Port List while submitting the certificates of ship.

The SSCC or SSCEC issued by third parties or private companies is not accepted.
