Olympic sailor Nick Rogers joins GAC Pindar in Act 3 of Extreme Sailing Series

All-British team aim for podium finish in Istanbul, Turkey

May 2012 - Double Olympic silver medalist Nick Rogers is to join Ian Williams and the GAC Pindar crew for Act 3 of the Extreme Sailing Series in Istanbul, Turkey. Rogers will replace Tactician Mark Ivey making it an all-British team battling it out on the water in the international series that kicks off next week 7 - 11 June.

Williams and the GAC Pindar crew have had an encouraging start to their 2012 campaign putting in strong performances in both Oman and China earlier this year. Currently 5th overall, the British team have achieved a multitude of wins and top three positions throughout the two opening Acts - proving that GAC Pindar are definite ones to watch this season.

Ian Williams says, "After a good improvement from Oman to China we are hoping to continue the improvement in Istanbul and push for place on the podium. We have a few crew changes over the next few events, with Nick Rogers filling in for Mark Ivey in Istanbul so we'll look to get Nick up to speed as quickly as possible with the unique format of racing that we do on the Extreme Sailing Series."

Act 3 is going to be a very busy event for GAC Pindar on and off the water, as the sailing team are also to be presented with limited edition watches designed especially by Swiss manufacturer and GAC Pindar sponsor, Armin Strom. Full details on the exciting timepiece are to follow.
