Sri Lanka, 27 January 2015 – Mahesh Kurukulasuriya, currently a director of the GAC Group of companies in Sri Lanka, has been appointed its Managing Director. Equipped with over 12 years of international operations, commercial, customer service and management experience in shipping and supply chain management, he is overall responsible for the strategic growth and business direction of the Group comprising GAC Shipping Ltd, GAC Marine Services Pvt Ltd, GAC Logistics Ltd and Mclarens Shipping Ltd.
Andrew Leach, GAC’s Group Vice President, Indian Subcontinent, says: "Mahesh’s extensive experience and customer service background make him suitable for this role, which calls for astute business acumen and strong leadership. I am confident that he can lead his team to grow our market share further in Sri Lanka’s marine security sector, where we already have a strong foothold, as well as strengthen our position and widen our client base in the ship agency and logistics markets."
