Philippines, 20 November 2012 – GAC Shipping and Cargo Systems Philippines, Inc. has changed its name to GAC Philippines, Inc. (GAC Philippines). The company is part of the GAC Group, a global shipping, logistics, marine and related services provider with over 300 offices worldwide.
Jake Cuerva, President & Managing Director of GAC Philippines, says: “We have been using the name ‘GAC Shipping and Cargo Systems Philippines’ for over a decade, and it has served us well, helping to establish us as the country’s leading fully integrated transport service provider. This new name better reflects the diversity of services that we offer today. It is also concise and easy to remember.”
The change reinforces the company’s presence in the country - local in action, global in attitude – and reflects the GAC Group’s long-term strategy to grow and enhance its service offerings to cater to the needs of its diverse clientele.
GAC Philippines started operations in Manila in 1988, as a ship agent. In 1999, a joint venture was formed between GAC and a local established company to form GAC Shipping and Cargo Systems, Philippines, Inc.. Operating from its head office in Manila and branch offices in Batangas, Cebu, Davao and Cagayan de Oro, GAC Philippines offers a comprehensive range of services including Air Freight, Project Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution, Land Transportation, Ocean Freight, Ship Agency and Supply Chain Management.
