GAC Marine Services Pvt. Ltd. walked away from the presentation ceremony at the Colombo Hilton with the Gold Award in the "Shipping and Shipping-related Services" category, as well as the Silver Award as runner-up in the medium-sized business category (covering all sectors).
The awards were presented to a team of GAC delegates led by Preethilal Fernando, Director/CEO of GAC Sri Lanka, who says they stand as testimony to the overall business performance of GAC Sri Lanka. Last year, GAC Marine Services’ sister company, GAC Shipping, won in the same categories.
The National Business Excellence Awards (NBEA) are the most prestigious and most recognised accolades and cover more than 27 business sectors in five categories according to the size of the business. The stringent selection process requires participating companies to prepare a comprehensive report covering seven key areas: Leadership & Strategic Planning; Corporate Governance; Capacity Building; Performance Management; Local and Global Market Reach; Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); and Business & Financial Results. The final winners are chosen following an in-depth interview with a panel of judges that includes senior business leaders, prominent professors and the country’s International Monetary Fund (IMF) Representative.
