One-year sponsorship of sailing team for Extreme Sailing Series and World Match Racing Tour
UK, 1 March 2012 - GAC Pindar has named Bollé eyewear as its official sunglasses supplier for the 2012 season. The sailing team's crew will all wear Bollé's specialist polarised Marine sunglasses as they compete in the 2012 Extreme Sailing Series, which kicked off in Oman on 28 February, and the World Match Racing Tour circuit.

The deal was signed after GAC Pindar's successful 2011 season, which saw skipper Ian Williams crowned International Sailing Federation (ISAF) World Champion for the third time and the team emerge as the overall winner in the Monsoon Cup in November 2011.
Ian Williams says: "Every year, we spend an enormous amount of time on and around the water, in all weathers from harsh, bright tropical light to flat light and rain. As professional sailors, it is vital to both protect our eyes for the long term, and to ensure that our eyewear enhances our race performance."
Andrew Pindar, Team Principal of GAC Pindar added, "Clear vision is essential in business as much as it is in competitive sailing, so the GAC Pindar team are thrilled to be using the very latest in sunglasses for their 2012 campaigns. With the help of Bollé, Ian Williams and his crew will have the clearest view and the best eye protection."
Andrew Grose, Managing Director of Bollé commented, "We are proud to be associated with the GAC Pindar sailing team, competing at the highest level. Our Marine Collection is specifically designed to meet the on water challenges of harsh glare, poor visibility and fast action. All our impact resistant Marine lenses are encased in lightweight, highly durable frames with Thermogrip® nose pads and temple tips, to ensure they stay in place during high speed manoeuvres and sail hoists. We look forward to supporting the team throughout 2012."
