Houston, United States – GAC North America - Logistics (GNAL) has made two key managerial changes to drive its business.
Paul Fardy has been appointed Managing Director, based at the Houston head office, to oversee the further development of GAC’s integrated logistics services throughout North America. Previously GAC Management Systems Director at the GAC Group’s Corporate Headquarters in Dubai, Fardy brings more than 25 years of industry experience to his new role, including many years in GAC logistics operations in the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
He takes over from Claus Schensema, who served as Managing Director - North America since 2014 and has now been appointed Director - General Freight to focus his knowledge of the sector throughout North America. Also a veteran of a quarter of a century in shipping and logistics, Schensema has served a variety of Management roles for GAC worldwide, including 12 years as Managing Director of GAC China.
Lars Heisselberg, Group Vice President – Americas, says their appointments follow the expansion of the company’s operational network in the U.S. with the opening of four new offices – in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit and Los Angeles - in 2015.
“After extending our footprint in the U.S. market, it was decided to bring in the experience and expertise of professionals like Paul and Claus to further propel our diverse logistics offerings,” he adds. “Their appointments will strengthen our ability to meet customer requirements on the local, regional and global scale.”
