Bringing decades of Middle East experience to the Subcontinent
India, 6 March 2012 - GAC has extended its specialised International Moving Service to the Indian Subcontinent with the opening of a new dedicated office in Mumbai.
This marks the expansion of the service beyond the Middle East, where GAC has been providing a fully fledged portfolio of packing and moving services, tailored to the needs of companies and individuals, for more than three decades. It comes at a time when the Indian economy is continuing to grow, and demand for moving services for personnel being transferred into and out of the country is on the rise.
A smooth fit
Paul Haegeman, GAC India's Managing Director, says it made sense to add this to the services offered to the high-level clients they deal with on a daily basis, many of whom move for professional reasons to the Middle East or back to India.
"GAC India already has a highly experienced team of logistics professional throughout our network of 25 offices nationwide, as well as an in-house customs broker (CHA) license, which has enabled us to fit smoothly into the Group's International Moving network," he adds.
"Based on the proven track record and resources of the GAC Group and the local know-how of our staff, we fully expect to quickly take our place among the country's top providers of quality international moving services."
Fully equipped
The new Indian operation will be fully equipped with packing crews, equipment and warehouses. The team is headed by Rashid Batliwalla, an industry veteran with 18 years experience, who takes up the position of General Manager, International Moving for GAC India, with the full support of Klaus Holmager, Regional Manager - International Moving, based in Dubai.
In addition to Mumbai, teams are being established in Cochin, Delhi and Chennai manned with expert personnel from throughout GAC to serve the Indian market.
