Award by Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port

GAC India has been recognised as the steamer agent handling the second highest number of dry bulk and break bulk cargo at the Port of Haldia.

The Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (formerly Kolkata Port Trust) has presented the company with an appreciation award acknowledging its performance between April 2021 and March 2022 when it handled a total of 121 vessels calling at the Haldia Dock Complex, primarily carrying coal. GAC India also handles liquid bulk at the port.

GAC India's Shipping Manager Abir Patra and Deputy Shipping Manager Malay Bera accepted the accolade at a trade meeting organised by the port this month.

Anil Menon, Director, Shipping of GAC India says the award is a testimony of the company’s experience and expertise in handling dry bulk cargo vessels, as well as its commitment to continue delivering professional and prompt ship agency services.

GAC India has been handling dry bulk commodities and vessels since the 1980s and is a leading provider of shipping and logistics services with 26 offices nationwide. Around 79% of vessels it handled in 2021 were carrying dry bulk cargo. And with new rules, regulations and market demands bringing constant change to the sector, GAC India’s local experience and expertise provides the flexibility to adapt and ensure customers are kept up-to-date with the latest developments.
