GAC extends partnership with Aberdeen Football Club

Expanded deal includes prominent branding on women’s team kits

GAC has extended its strategic partnership with Aberdeen Football Club (AFC) in an enhanced multi-year deal.

As the Official Logistics Partner of Aberdeen FC, GAC has diversified its sponsorship to include GAC branding on the sleeves of the Club’s Women’s team match kits, underlining its commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. What’s more, a new match ball plinth at all first team games at the Club’s home ground, Pittodrie, will see GAC ‘delivering’ the match ball ahead of kick-off.

GAC has enjoyed strong brand exposure through its prominent sponsorship of the club’s RedTV and match-day social media. That will be further enhanced under the new deal, which sees an increased presence across all Aberdeen FC social media and digital platforms, strengthening its engagement with fans all over the world.

The perfect match
Stuart Bowie, GAC’s Group Vice President - Commercial, describes the relationship with AFC as ‘the perfect match’.

“We first partnered with Aberdeen FC in 2019 after seeing the alignment between the Club’s ethos and the qualities GAC delivers – namely teamwork, timing, dexterity, precision and smart moves,” he says.

“Through this partnership we’ve been able to boost our visibility both locally and globally, and it has also allowed GAC to forge stronger relationships with clients and partners. We’re confident that the growth of our relationship with AFC is another smart move and we eagerly look forward to adding our support to AFC Women as they tackle the new season in Scottish Women’s Premier League 1.”

The perfect fit
Herman Jorgensen, GAC UK’s Managing Director, adds: “As we continue to shine a bright light on diversity and inclusion following our achievement of Diversity in Maritime Charter status, the extension of our partnership to include the Aberdeen FC Women’s team presence is the perfect fit. It’s another example of the match between the Club’s and GAC’s ethos.”

Rob Wicks, Commercial Director at Aberdeen FC, says: “GAC has been an enthusiastic, committed and engaged partner over the past two seasons and we very much look forward to moving our relationship to the next level over the next three seasons. Aberdeen is an important hub for GAC. Being able to deliver value both here and further afield through our digital channels is central to this partnership. We have invested heavily in these platforms in recent months and it’s paying dividends for everyone involved.”
