Key management change at GAC Australia

Scott Henderson takes over from Phil Coolican as Managing Director

Sydney, Australia – 09 April 2014: Scott Henderson has been appointed Managing Director of GAC Australia following the retirement of Phil Coolican after seven years with the company and more than four decades in the shipping industry.Scott Henderson, Managing Director of GAC Australia

Previously the company’s National Operations Manager, in his new role Scott Henderson is responsible for overseeing the continued growth of GAC Australia’s shipping and logistics services business across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and, the Pacific Islands. Prior to joining GAC Australia when the company was established in 2007, Henderson worked for leading Australian shipping companies.

Captain Dan Hjalmarsson, GAC’s Group Vice President - Asia Pacific, says: "After many years in the shipping business and seven years of outstanding commitment and hard work in building the GAC business across Australia and the wider region, we all wish Phil Coolican a very happy retirement. We know that in Scott we have the right man to fill his very capable shoes. Scott has been with us since the establishment of GAC Australia and brings to his new role as Managing Director 26 years of shipping management experience and a keen understanding of the needs of our customers."
