Overview

Since the break-up of the Soviet Union and independence, Ukraine has made the transition from a controlled economy to an open market economy. The transition was initially challenging, but later the Ukrainian economy started to experience strong export-based growth. Ukraine produces nearly all types of transportation vehicles and spacecraft. Antonov airplanes and KrAZ trucks are exported to many countries.
