Overview
Norway experienced rapid economic growth as a result of the discovery of large oil deposits in the North Sea in the early 1970s. Norway is now the world’s 7th largest oil exporter, and its petroleum industry accounts for about a quarter of the GDP. The country also has rich resources of gas fields, hydropower, fish, forest and minerals. Shipping and ship-building remain important industries, along with manufacturing, retail and oil & gas.
GAC Norway is the number one shipping agent for liquid cargoes to and from all Norwegian terminals. The company was formed in May 2007 when the GAC Group acquired an 80% stake in Ole R. Olsen, which has been serving vessels at the country’s ports and terminals since 1845. Through an extension network of branch office, we cover all Norwegian ports and provide important support to North Sea oil and gas operations.
GAC Logistics (Norway) AS provides professional logistics services, with particular focus on the energy industry’s air, sea and road transportation needs. We also handle project cargo for the oil & gas sector and ship spares logistics for vessels in Norway.
