New security fee

A Security Fee at the Port of Dampier has been introduced for the first time in financial year 2019/20, application from 1 July 2019 for every vessel entering the Port of Dampier and levied at $0.085 per GRT.

The Security Fee recovers costs incurred by PPA associated with complying with the requirements of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and Meets its legal obligations under the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act and Regulations (2003).

It enables PPA to operate, maintain and upgrade the security infrastructure and systems necessary to provide a safe and secure port environment for port users and stakeholders.

Below is the % increase on harbour dues over the last 3 years, the Port Security fee is a new impost for 2019: 
2016-2017: Rate 0.2969
2018-2018: Rate 0.3474 (17.01% increase on previous)
2019-June ’19: Rate 0.3648 (5.01% increase on previous)
July ’19: Rate 0.3921 (7.48% increase on previous)
