Demolition & removal of floating panels and concrete walkway

From 11 January to 10 July, work will be carried out to demolish and remove existing floating panels and concrete walkway at the eastern coastline of St John’s Island.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.004 of 2019 dated 10 January 2019, the work will be carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 13·163'N / 103 deg. 51·100'E
2) 01 deg. 13·163'N / 103 deg. 51·127'E
3) 01 deg. 13·054'N / 103 deg. 51·126'E
4) 01 deg. 13·054'N / 103 deg. 51·099'E

The works will involve the demolition and removal of the existing floating panels and concrete walkway located on the eastern coastline of St John’s Island. Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control);
and
e) Communicate with West Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.
