Stockholm - GAC Pindar and skipper Ian Williams confirmed victory in Stockholm in the M32 Scandinavia Series’ final day to win the event – and the series – in imperious fashion.

The well-earned victory was celebrated in front of a packed crowd at Stockholm’s Riddarfjärden course in the heart of the city.

Locals Essiq Racing and Nicklas Dackhammar had the best shot at challenging Williams for the Series title heading into the event in Stockholm. However, Williams managed to keep a tactical head, which gave him and GAC Pindar the title.

Although Williams and GAC Pindar were comfortably ahead on the leaderboard, their overall victory wasn’t confirmed until the sixth race of the day when they recovered up into second place.

The final leaderboard paints a telling story of a series that has been characterised by brilliant performances from Williams and his crew – Brad Farrand, Mark Bulkeley and Garth Ellingham – with their final tally of 68 points well ahead of their nearest rivals, Essiq Racing, on 59.

Ian Williams celebrated the victory, saying: “The whole of Team GAC Pindar are really pleased with how we have closed out the 2016 M32 Scandinavian Series. Winning the last four events shows we are on the right track with the M32 and we look forward to continuing our progression into 2017.”

The next test for GAC Pindar and Williams will come in the M32 Mediterranean Series in Ibiza, from 6th – 9th October. From there the team will spend the winter in Palma, where they will train for next year’s races.
