Dubai, 16 February 2012 - South African professional golfer George Coetzee is the latest sportsman to join global shipping, logistics and marine services provider GAC's stable of Brand Ambassadors.

George Coetzee is a rising star in professional golf, having secured eight Top 10 finishes on last year's European Tour, won the 2011 Telkom PGA Championship in South Africa and finished the prestigious Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship in sixth place last month.

Coetzee has just competed in the Qatar Masters Tournament and the Omega Dubai Desert Classic 2012.  He took time out from his busy schedule to visit the GAC Corporate Headquarters in Jebel Ali, Dubai, to sign his sponsorship deal with GAC.

As Brand Ambassador, he will support and participate in GAC's programme of customer events and community initiatives, and also sport the GAC logo on his playing kit.

After the deal was signed, Stuart Bowie, GAC Dubai Managing Director, said: "It's a pleasure to welcome George to the GAC team and we look forward to the boost our brand will receive through our association with him during the year ahead. George's dedication to his game and pursuit of sporting excellence is a real credit to him and it reflects GAC's approach to business, always striving to deliver the best results for our shipping and logistics customers.  Golf's global popularity mirrors our own global network of services."

Coetzee added: "I'm delighted to start the 2012 season with the support of a globally renowned organisation like GAC. I look forward to achieving all I can with its support on the coming European and Sunshine Tours, as well as playing my part in customer and community activities off the course in my role as GAC Brand Ambassador."

GAC has a long history of sports sponsorship and partnership agreements, ranging from elite sport and global competitions to rising stars and community projects.  Its support covers a wide range of athletic endeavours, including football, motor racing, sailing, golf, basketball, volleyball and rugby.
