Personalised packing and moving specialist continues expansion beyond the Middle East

Sri Lanka, 25 April 2012 - GAC International Moving has opened its second base in the Indian Subcontinent, in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo. This latest expansion comes hot on the heels of the opening of GAC's bespoke packing and moving services in India in March.

GAC International Moving has been providing a fully fledged portfolio of packing and moving services throughout the Middle East for more than thirty years. Building on that success, the service is this year branching out to the Indian Subcontinent.

Preethilal Fernando, Director/CEO of GAC Sri Lanka, says this latest expansion comes at a time when the Sri Lankan economy is picking up steam, with an increase in the movement of people and goods into and out of the country.

"The demand for moving services by relocating executives is geared for growth, and the launch of GAC's International Moving services in Sri Lanka is timely to ride this wave," he adds. "The newly-launched services complement the suite of shipping and logistics services we already provide in Sri Lanka, thus making us a one-stop integrated shipping, logistics and related services provider."

Jeremy Enas, who headed the International Moving Division in GAC Qatar for seven years, has now been appointed as the General Manager for International Moving in Sri Lanka.

GAC International Moving provides a personalised service, tailored to the specific needs and wishes of each individual, rather than adopting a 'one size fits all' approach. To get the right mix, it offers any combination of the following:

  • Pre-move surveys
  • Domestic moves
  • International moves (FCL, LCL, air freight, land transportation & groupage services)
  • Short- and long-term storage when required
  • Insurance
