GAC Greece named Agent of the Year for 2012

Greek airfreight team’s professionalism and strong performance recognised

Athens, Greece, 20 March 2013 – GAC Greece has been named as Agent of the Year 2012 by Deutsche Post DHL-owned European Air Transport Leipzig GmbH for services provided at Athens International Airport. This is the fourth consecutive year that the team has ranked among the top two agents engaged by the airline in Greece, based on volumes handled and quality of service provided.

GAC Greece Airfreight team (LtoR) Dimitris Dakolias, Lila Theofilopoulou, Kostas Theoharis, Litsa Spyratou, Menios Constandaras and Pitsa Papoulia, praised for services provided at Athens International Airport.

GAC Greece Airfreight handled more than 960,000kg of export airfreight cargo and nearly 244,000kg of imports in 2012, ranging from shipments of pharmaceuticals to precious musical instruments for orchestras performing in the country. The company has ranked in the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) list of Top Ten Agents operating in the country for each of the past five years.

Vicky Teloni, Cargo Manager for Greece and Romania, European Air Transport Leipzig GmbH, said GAC Greece had been named the company’s Agent of the Year due to the high levels of professionalism shown by the seven-strong airfreight team in Athens: “GAC is a reliable company enjoying a good reputation and commanding respect in the Greek cargo market.”

British Airways World Cargo has also presented the GAC Greece Airfreight Team with their Top Customer Award, whilst Emirates Sky Cargo has named them a ‘Valuable Associate’, highlighting their excellent service and commitment to supporting customers across the country.
