Rates increase formally announced

The Suez Canal Authority has issued a circular announcing the rates increase for all type of vessels except cruise ships and LNG carriers.

From 1 February 2022, normal dues for vessels (except those excluded) transiting the Suez Canal will increase by 6%.

A new transit dues category has been created for general cargo ships, multi-purpose ships, heavy lift ships, general cargo/heavy lift ships, and multi-purpose/heavy lift ships.

A new calculation category for container ships has been inserted (Next 60000 MT) with an increase of 6%.
