Operations halted after strong earthquake

Cargo operations at Limak Terminal have been suspended until further notice due to the destructive effect of the strong earthquake that struck southern Turkey early this morning (6 February).

Cargo operations at Ceyhan Marine Terminal (BTC) have also been halted due to damage reporting and an emergency meeting. Meanwhile, all operations at Mersin International Port (MIP) are suspended until 08:00 hours local time tomorrow (7 February).

All flights from/to Hatay airport have been suspended due to damage on the airfield. Civilian flights from/to airports in Kahramanmaras and Gaziantep are suspended until further notice.

The first earthquake has been updated from 7.4 to 7.7 magnitude. A second strong quake of 7.6 magnitude hit the region at 13:24 hours local time.

According to local sources, more than 1000 people have been killed and thousands injured.
