Increase in Omicron cases prompts new restrictions

Sikka Ports & Terminals Limited (Reliance Terminal Sikka) have announced that due to an increase in the number of cases of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, new restrictions will be in force for the next month, as follows:

  • All visits to vessel by vetting inspector, class surveyor, cargo expeditor and superintendent are stopped with immediate effect.
  • Service engineer attendance to vessels may only be done after completion of cargo operations and at anchorage only.
  • All signing-on/signing-off at SPM to be only after cargo operation has been completed and after the vessel has cast off.
  • For jetty vessels, signing-on/signing-off to be done after vessel has berthed and screening has been completed.
  • No-one will be allowed without a Covid negative report no more than 72 hours old.
  • All signing-on/signing-off clearance to be sought on mail only and not in person at the office.
