The GAC Standard
Code of ethics
The GAC Code of Ethics is more than just corporate window dressing. It is a guide for action, not just words. A true code of practice.
Our Code of Ethics covers how GAC people conduct themselves, whether they be dealing with each other, customers, suppliers or authorities. It emphasises respect for the law and respect for people. At its core lies a determination to treat customers, suppliers and colleagues honestly, fairly and with dignity. » View our Code of Ethics
Quality Policy
Quality is the foundation of success, and has been at the heart of our working culture since GAC first started up in 1956. Today, GAC is an ISO-certified service provider, mainly audited by DNV. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our own in-house Strategic Management System, GAC TIME, which is based on the principles of Total Quality Management and is also reviewed by DNV. » View our Quality Policy
HSSE Policy
Four interlinked elements create the best working space for GAC’s people and all who receive our services, step on to our premises, board our vessels or sit in our vehicles. Our commitment to quality is based on constant vigilance and attention to detail. Steady feedback from our customers’ Safety Officers and regulatory authorities ensure our approach to health, safety, security and the environment remains clear, resolute and purposeful. Training, particularly in the offshore sector, is constant and rigorous. » View our HSSE policy
Corporate Social Responsibility
As a successful business, at GAC we want to do well. But wherever possible, we also want to do good.
And it is that philosophy that is at the heart of our commitment to corporate social responsibility, reflected in:
- our Code of Ethics to which all employees are required to comply;
- the application of stringent Corporate Governance measures;
- our pioneering stand and Group-wide guidelines on health, safety, security and environmental matters;
- our support of the communities in which we operate;
- GAC’s international Child Sponsorship programme.
In 2009, the Chairman’s Award for Environmental Excellence was established, to promote environmental awareness and positive action by GAC companies. The inaugural winners were recognised for their efforts to radically reduce electricity use, cut down on paper consumption, and for support of a school for the children of migrant workers in Shanghai.
