Overview
Strategically located on the Indian Ocean in southeastern Africa, Mozambique has seen considerable development since its 15 year civil war ended in 1992. Despite continuing poverty and devastating floods in 2000, the country's average annual rate of growth from 1996 to 2006 was 8%, and it is widely considered to be one of the success stories of sub-Saharan Africa.
Efforts are now being made to upgrade the nation's infrastructure - including ports, roads and railways - with the support of foreign investment.
With its head office in Maputo and branch offices being developed in other key ports, GAC Mozambique provides shipping and logistics services nationwide, with particular emphasis on supporting the needs of the country's rapidly expanding oil and gas, mining and energy sectors. Its staff is fully conversant with all aspects of the shipping industry and all related areas.
