Overview

Japan is a major economic power, ranking as the world's second-largest economy in terms of nominal GDP and the third-largest in purchasing power parity. It is the only Asian country in the G8. Accelerating economic globalisation continues to broaden and deepen the country's international trading and investment relationships, with its partners including North America, Asia and Europe, and commercial activity has increased sharply with the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) group of nations.

Since the early 1990s, the capital Tokyo has been home to the team responsible for marketing the GAC Group's extensive range of worldwide shipping services to Japanese Principals.
